GETTING READY FOR SPRING
Spring is right around the corner! Even with all of us practicing social distancing, that doesn’t mean we can’t get ready for it. Spring is a season of new beginnings—a chance to wipe away the slate and begin again. Today we’ll be sharing some tips on getting ready for spring!
CLEAR OUT THE CLUTTER
At this point, you’re probably tired of hearing about spring cleaning. But taking the opportunity to clear the old will give you the chance to bring in the new! So, take a look around your space. What have you been ignoring that really needs to be taken care of? Get creative with this process. You’d be surprised what actually needs to get done!
If you feel you’ve got your space organization down to a science, here are some things you might not have thought of.
- Wipe down your walls and baseboards. Take note of any marks or holes in the wall and take the time to repair them.
- Sanitize and wipe down your laundry machines and dishwasher.
- Is there anything you’ve been holding onto that should be thrown out or donated? Take stock of your clutter. This could include books, dishes, clothes, craft supplies, knick knacks, and more.
- Get everything out of your junk drawers and discard as much as you can. You’d be surprised by how much garbage ends up in there!
PREPARING YOUR OUTDOOR SPACE
Spring is a great time to prepare your outdoor space for the warmer months. Whether you want to start a garden, build a fireplace, or just work on some general yard work, now is a great time to start! A lot of garden centers are offering curbside pick up, so now is a perfect time to support local businesses.
Take stock of what needs to be completed and get to work! Maybe now is a great time to aerate your grass, fertilize your soil, or start a compost bin. Regardless of what it is, getting outside and taking advantage of the fresh air will do wonders for your health. It’s also a great way to focus on the positives and get excited for the coming months.
With this new season, not only is it important to work on decluttering the space around you, but also the space within you. Now is a great time to take stock of your yearly resolutions, set any new goals you’ve had in mind, and put healthy mental practices into place. Meditating, yoga, journaling— all of these things are a great way to start fresh and rejuvenate your mind. Take advantage of this new season! It’s never too late for a new beginning.
