The End of Summer Checklist
Even though the end of summer isn’t technically until September 22nd (or 23rd, depending on how the Autumn Equinox falls each year), it feels like Fall is just around the corner. And, even though you still have plenty of summer left, it’s a great time to check in and make sure you’re using every precious summer day that you have.
So, keep reading for our end-of-summer checklist, and get some ideas to fill your calendar full of summer fun.
Run Through the Sprinklers
What’s better than free fun? No matter how old you are, a refreshing spritz from the hose can bring out your inner child. Reward yourself for a morning full of yardwork with a quick sprint through the sprinklers, or make a day out of it with the kids!
Have a BBQ
There’s just something magical about cooking and eating outside. Whether you’re gathering with your family or feeding the neighborhood, slowing down to enjoy a meal is always a good idea. Consider throwing a potluck barbeque, or even a big neighborhood picnic if you feel like getting to know your neighbors even better. Make sure everyone brings a blanket to sit on, and get ready to share some recipes.
Watch a Movie Outside
Whether you have a drive-in movie theater nearby or not, you can enjoy warm summer nights with your favorite flick. A big white bed sheet can transform into a screen with just a bit of string or a sturdy fence, and you can find fairly inexpensive projectors for your smartphone online.
Make memories by popping popcorn on the stove and voting on what movie to watch next.
Read a Summer Thriller
Sometimes, you just need to get away from it all. Beach reads are usually light and fluffy or dark and thrilling. But, no matter what, they’re impossible to put down. Whether you’re hitting the beach or planning a staycation, pick up a book and spend a few hours in another world.
